As a singer in a choir for years, I think it is unfair to judge anyone if they haven't warmed up. It's like sending a soccer player on the field without letting him strech and warm up first. The vocal cords are musles, you need to oil them first else u kinda risk fucking failing xD Many people, who do not sing on a "professional basis", dont know about that and think " Ohh, that person can't sing in real life!". Further, without a proper Microphone and without music, the sound is different. Also depends on the room actually! Every room has a different "acoustic" (don't know the English word but that's the word we use in Germany xD). So give them a fair chance :D!

I despise this kind of pop music, but Billie Eilish and Phineas are both extremely talented and such a good role-models to kids and musicians. The rest is trash to my ears and will be forgotten in a month, but she is up there with MJ and Freddie Mercury in terms of vocal skills.

4:50 I’ve been a musician (tenor saxophone) for almost 9 years and I usually have pretty good ear when it comes to things like this. Still, I could be wrong but from what i can tell, I’m like 80% sure that what you pointed out is not autotune. That sound is probably just vibrato; he often does that kind of vibrato in his songs. There probably is some auto tune but what you specifically pointed out is his style of vibrato(fast often inconsistent in his live performances;like this one)not auto tune.

I love how friendly this is :) I'm not a fan of pop at all really and I've pretty much always looked down on a lot of pop stars for whatever reason, but what I like I about this is that there's no shade. I find myself appreciating the music more because it's not defensive - I like classical, I love metal, I love displays of vocal and instrumental virtuosity, and when people rally behind their favorite popstars who may or may not deserve the adoration, it just makes me turn off more, but here, just listening with a general attitude of appreciation and positivity for people who are, at the end of the day, making art that wouldn't exist if they didn't make it (even ms pons ;) ) I've found that I unexpectedly enjoy it.
